What should I know for the FRQ's?

1. Be able to explain in-depth the pros and cons of large-scale water diversion. Explain how aqueducts, dams, etc. work and the costs and benefits of each.
2. Be able to explain in-depth how various water pollutants enter a body of water and how water parameters may be affected by such pollutants (ex. nitrates enter the water in what way? How do nitrates affect DO, pH, TSS, etc. either directly or indirectly.) Be able to explain this for all WQI parameters tested.
3. Be able to describe wastewater treatment in depth (both primary and secondary treatment as well as septic systems). Be able to explain the pros and cons of each type of system.
